Work’s been sucking my life away, I don’t have the energy for anything else. Last week was kinda bad, the best I got was a 12 hour day, some days were almost 15 hours.
Was looking desperately for a place to rant, so I turned to my blog.
But thankfully the previous weeks were slightly better! Hence, I could make it down to hall to see my beloved steppers train hard for the nationals.
Being in their presence really reminds me of all the good old times I’d spent in school/in hall/in cheer.
Was looking back at the antique videos/pictures and even blog posts and somehow I really wish I could put those memories on a repeat mode.
KR Steppers has always been very close to my heart, and I was extremely excited being there at the Nationals with them. ![]()
That was a very well-spent weekend because it just made me relive all the times we shared together before.
Watching 2012′s routine always sends chills up my spine. I love each and every single person in the video above!
But sorry for sidetracking, this year’s routine was even more awe-inspiring. They’ve improved so much and I’m so proud of all of them!

From 2 pillars of toe touch 1-1-1′s to 3! ZAI ANOT?
like a boss!

I love DEO, OAT and XXY tremendously.
Deo’s always been my listening ear, and a friend that’s there to encourage, reason things out with me and give me advice.
Oat’s been someone I was afraid of initially. As a freshie, I thought he was just a slave driver coach stretching me as if screaming was a different language that he couldn’t understand. (he’s thai btw, and I mean, screaming in pain..) I recall, he used to make us do 84038208234023 elevator drills and 2-2-1′s (okay that’s really passe because these zai freshies don’t do such stuff anymore.) But all at the same time, he’s been the most caring, passionate and devoted person that I know of. I remember him running to me frantically with ice when I injured my elbow from a training in Thailand. :’)
XXY’s my confidant. I could just run up to her right now and hug her very tightly. Probably, the both of us might end up in tears. Too much feeling (for every single shit that we went through together!).

Ben Tan’s stepped up as Captain this year, probably about to step down soon. Oh how time flies! But honestly, I think he did such a fantastic job as a captain. I’m sure it took a lot of effort and sacrifice on him to lead the team! But hey, all for the love of steppers!

Chang!!!!! A mate from RSU, a team in Thailand that we train with. He’s beeen the nicest and sweetest thing to me, and to the rest of the team, since the beginning of time. And I can’t say THANK YOU enough, Chang.

Fav Base, Wei Li! Always called him a chee hong when I was freshie but he’s been the nicest base to work with ever. I remember I used to detest it a lot when the bases scold the flyers or when they complain over every single nonsense that was sometimes just completely irrelevant. Like… “your shoes very smelly!” (because on a shoulder stand, our shoes are right next to their face!) hehe but maybe my fav base doesn’t say much because my shoes is the smell of his sweat!:) Okay, just kidding.

A familiar face? Haha the same face as the one I took pictures with at TIMES SQUARE on Christmas Eve! Okay how kick ass!!!
Love that Bryant and I share similar feelings about New York City. Can scream and go completely insane just at the mention of… “BROOOME STREET!” or.. “PINK BERRY!!!!” okay i’m getting slightly excited just typing it out. But bryant was my base at the last SNCC’11. Not exactly my base, but my midflyer’s base. AND HE ALWAYS COMPLAINS THAT I EAT TOO MUCH AND THAT I’M FAT. You get what I mean? Boo. But it’s okay, B’s always my SISTA!! ![]()

That’s Step and my BFF, billy chinny chin chin. My partner stunts base. He’s like a zai too
I always always always have faith in him! Love you BFF!

A bunch of sweet cheerleaders from VJ i think? Future Steppers recruits!!

Awwwww WEEPS. The one I always suan for wearing ugly shorts to training (and maybe splitting his shorts half the time), never afraid to flaunt his huge watermelon tummy (maybe trying to compete with me). But I always feel like he’s there for me whenever I need someone to talk to. Like the phonecall from USA last September in the middle of the night, when I was ALONE and dying. Thank you weeps! I will still keep poking fun at you, but you know I don’t mean it half the time.

My favourite mid, elvie!!!!!!!!! Always my midflyer, and I know she’ll always do what she can to catch me. I love you!!!!!!!!! Eat together. Shit together. Bathe together. Laugh together. Cry together. Scream in pain together. Everything together. I’ll never forget.

JJ!!!! The only PRC friend I love
I remember trying to teach him how to do elevators and extensions in chinese when he first join. Haha damn noob :/

The Champions, ALL GIRLS!

But there was one girl missing
So I decided to be the substitute!

This is like a dream come true because I always wanted to base. I’m actually quite strong one!!!!!! See my hand fats/muscles!

Team talk while waiting for the announcement of the results. JAJA and I were right behind them. It was so intense I could cry.

And that’s the true spirit. I’m somewhere hidden in the middle. A woosh, I miss the woosh.
READY OK! 1 2 DOWN STEPPERS!

Ediboo looks like a seh pei pei here. My tosser in last year’s routine! Haha my comfort blanket because he was a zai kid too! ![]()

still can fly but i was abit scared cos so long never fly already! and no shoes some more, haha ![]()

So we won 3 trophies. GOLD for All Girls Group stunts, SILVER for Open Cat and GOLD for our “shithole”, as how we fondly know it as. It’s basically some typical cheer dance/freestyle thingy that we put together at the last minute. 1 or at most 2 practises and we’re up on stage! Just nice pompoms/dance moves/cheering/banners/choreography will make it work!

may, you could think of him as oat’s counterpart. also, one of the judges at the competition ![]()

and this was the steppers comm for my batch!:) ediboo, billychinnychinchin, weeps and i– forever love!!!!!!!!
I blog as if I was the one competing in this year’s SNCC. but noo…. watch my juniors instead this year:
A very well deserving FIRST RUNNER UP!!
Our motto: Blame No One. Expect Nothing. Do Something. (LIFE APPLICABLE!)
There have been many ups and downs during my time with steppers. And as I was digging through antique material, I found this from Big B. A note he wrote to the team 3 years ago. After a routine where 3 out of 5 groups of partner stunts failed. And we were so distraught that night I probably had no appetite for food (okay la just exaggerating a little). But just not to miss the point here it goes:
“You have not disappointed the Hall. Do not live by the expectations of others who are irrelevant. The only relevant people whose expectations you should care about are yourselves. What do you expect of yourself?
They say we expect nothing. We never expect to win. The official version is that when you expect nothing, victories are sweeter and disappointment impossible. The real reason is simpler. The real reason is that when KR Steppers first joined Cheerobics, we thought we would do our best and get trashed by the other teams because we were a completely new team with no experience. We won. But the reason has not changed. We are still a very young team with so much to learn and so many obstacles to overcome before we can even expect anything of ourselves. That is why we expect nothing.
But actually that’s not completely true. We do expect something. There is one thing we do expect from every Stepper. It is not victory. It is not top-three in Cheerobics. It is that we do our best and fight with everything we have no matter what happens to give the best damn performance we can. And I think although all of us are sad and disappointed tonight, you have met and exceeded all our expectations. If you must live up to our expectations and our legacy, at least live up to the correct expectations and the correct legacy. It is not winning. It is not all stunts up or perfect routine. All stunts up is something we aim for in every performance and something we prize, but that is not the real expectation or legacy. The true legacy of your seniors, those who are still fighting and guiding you today and those who have come and gone throughout our short existence as a squad, is that they fought hard and never gave up even though each day brought another reason to quit to try to put a good show with all stunts up. And in our eyes you have proudly carved yourselves into that legacy.”
Just to end off, here are 3 outfits from smitten.com.sg.

My favourite part of this skirt is the buttons! Comes in other shades of blue (like light/dark wash!).

P.S. it comes with an inner lining, hence not see-through!

A flowly chiffon skirt. PLUS TEN BROWNIE POINTS!

I gotta love the vibrant colours!
If you need some retail therapy over this long weekend, don’t forget to pop by SMITTEN.COM.SG!
It’s time that I collapse into a coma. I had a very hard week.
Are you single now?
